Identifying risks and proactive strategies for sugar

“Katherine Teh and the Futureye team have an incredibly powerful, well developed approach to identifying risks and developing clear strategies for an industry to not only understand community concerns and expectations, but to proactively respond to address those key risk areas. The level of energy and commitment was first rate, and the project delivered everything that was agreed and more within tight deadlines.”

Dominic Nolan, Former CEO ASMC

The Australian Sugar Milling Council commissioned Futureye to produce an industry strategy that would generate a social licence to operate for the whole Australian sugar industry.  Futureye conducted detailed research into the full sugar milling process and supply chain, assessing the major social licence risks and how the industry had been dealing with the risks.

The risks identified, including health, were prioritised and Futureye worked with industry leaders to develop a strategy with a clear vision for the future – and a pathway/process to ensure industry survival, and success.

As health was identified as a high priority, a detailed program was developed, including key messages, to help address genuine issues and at the same time reduce concerns about the industry.
