The brief:

The complaints of a small number of neighbours in Cape Bridgewater had created a tipping point against the Pacific Hydro wind farm and started to create the risk that the Portland community would become negative and hostile towards them. The neighbours had joined the more radical groups such as Waubra Foundation and Stop These Things and were complaining about noise and health impacts.

The result:

Futureye developed a community relations strategy and plan for Cape Bridgewater and then initiated the company’s community advisory group that has now been operating for about two years. During that time, Pacific Hydro has rebuilt its relationship with its neighbours and community. It is investigating the noise concerns with an independent acoustician and it has been acknowledged for its work by anti-wind farm politicians and the Waubra Foundation.
