The brief:

Zinifex's Port Pirie Smelter is the world's largest lead smelter and its key sustainability challenge was that there was an unacceptably high level of lead-in-blood of children under the age of five. Zinifex initiated a process to engage the community in the decision-making of environmental and community health priorities at the smelter. Futureye provided expertise in designing and implementing community based programs, to ultimately achieve alignment around the core issues and deliverable goals.

The result:

The citizens' jury input into a license represents a significant step forward for transparent licensing of a major facility.
