The brief:

The Victorian Environment Protection Authority (EPA) wanted to understand its stakeholder engagement training needs so that tailored training programs could be developed and delivered by a training provider. In the past, the EPA had relied on generic training programs that provided broad elements of stakeholder engagement and didn’t recognise the EPA’s unique roles and relationships with industry and Victorian communities.

The result:

Futureye developed three categories of recommendations, one (‘Stakeholder Engagement Training Program’) responding directly to the brief, and two more sets addressing issues relating to the required culture, skills, systems and resources for creating a supportive environment capable of undertaking effective engagement. These recommendations highlighted the need to ensure the organisation was able to conduct effective engagement. The recommendations have not been delivered to date.
