Yotsawin Kukeawkasem

Dr. Yotsawin Kukeawkasem is an expert in smallholder farming and agribusiness with over 15 years of experience working in various Asian countries. Currently, he works as a consultant for international institutions, namely, IFC (World Bank Group), GIZ (German International Cooperation), and FAO. His technical expertise includes: Market-oriented and agricultural-related rural development projects; Inclusive agribusiness model, Sustainability standards; Risk analysis and management; Smallholders aggregation, etc.

He obtained his doctorate degree on the subject of risk attitudes and risk management strategies in agriculture from the University of Giessen, Germany. He worked several years in private sector for an international agribusiness (Cargill) and modern trade & supermarket (Carrefour), as well as, for a non-profit international development organization (Heifer International). From 2009 – June 2012, he worked as Project Manager for the joint project of the German International Cooperation (GIZ) and the Thai’s Office of Agricultural Economics (OAE) on Sustainable Palm Oil Production in Thailand. The project had successfully supported independent oil palm smallholder groups to become the very first I.S. RSPO certified worldwide.
