Steve Martin

Steve has over twenty-five years’ experience in undertaking economic research and analysis within private and public sector organisations, with a strong track record in providing authoritative, strategic and influential advice to senior management and government ministers. Steve provides expert economic consulting services specialising in analysis, communication and project management.

Steve’s work has a strong focus on stakeholder management and development of collaborative working relationships. His recent experience includes advising a Victorian Government regulator on a range of cost recovery and funding issues; working on a review of public transport ticketing enforcement and compliance; and developing the analytical framework for the independent review of Victoria’s Environment Protection Agency. In 2014-15, Steve worked as the project director for the Industry Panel review of the 2013 price direction for regulated water and sewerage service in the ACT.

His past people management experience has a strong emphasis on building team capability and the development of a constructive working culture. These skills were developed during the senior roles that Steve has held at the Essential Services Commission, Department of Treasury and Finance, and the WorkCover Authority, all in Victoria.

Steve has a Bachelor of Arts with Joint Honours in Economics and Agricultural Economics from the University of Nottingham and a Masters in Agricultural Economics from the University of Oxford.
