Gary Saliba

Albury, Australia

Dr Gary Saliba specialises in the integration and implementation of processes such as systems thinking (considering issues as a whole rather than just the parts) futures studies (understanding what the future could look like), strategy development, computer simulation modelling and change management. This approach has enabled him to consult extensively in Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia across a range of government and commercial enterprise in developing organisational strategy that is based in plausible futures, using the scenario development methodology.

As part of his work in a Federal Government agency, Gary and his team were awarded an innovation award for development of a computer simulation model for human resource planning. This work has culminated as a regular feature on ABC television’s Open Learning program.

Gary’s approach is to work with people to enhance their processes in understanding their organisation’s operating environment and their personal “maps” of the world. This all leads to more informed decision-making and improved responsiveness and flexibility in an ever increasingly complex environment.

As part of his corporate work, Gary provides one-on-one life coaching and mentoring. This is a personalised service that enable people to deeply reflect on their values, beliefs and unconscious models that shape decision-making and behaviours in all aspects of their lives. The work is focused on mentoring people to undertake a journey of transformational change.

Gary holds a BSc(Hons), PhD in Applied Mathematics and Dip Ed from the University of Sydney. He is Visiting Fellow at the School of Economics and Government at the Australian National University.
