Andrew Firmin

Andrew Firmin is a freelance writer, editor and project manager, with extensive experience of working with and for civil society, particularly in the global south, in the fields of international development and culture. He is currently working with Restless Development, a youth-led international development agency, to help launch their Big Idea programme on youth-led, data-driven development accountability. He also works regularly with CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation, a global civil society network, to produce their annual State of Civil Society Report, most recently as lead writer and editor. Previously he has undertaken research, analysis, synthesis, writing and editing work with the Commonwealth Foundation, the International Law and Policy Institute and the Macedonian Centre for International Cooperation. Before freelancing he managed the research, convening and communications teams at CIVICUS, and established and led the culture programme of the Commonwealth Foundation. Andrew is a British citizen and holds an MA in International Relations from the University of Malmö, Sweden.
